Search a New Customer
When you first log into Sentinel you are presented with the New Account screen. This is the screen where you enter a customer or company's information for screening. Once the data has been entered hit the Submit button to process the customer data.
Once the data has been screened the Result Summary screen appears. A summary of the process appears on the top of the screen, listing the customer name, person who ran the screen and when the screen was run. Each data source checked is listed in the result summary table. The results are color coded and are High Risk, Medium or Low Risk / No Match Found.
To view the detailed data for a High or Medium risk result click on the result risk link.
After clicking on the result risk link the matching details will appear. These details show the information available in the source data base related to your match. Review the details carefully to determine if you have a true match or a false positive. The update the risk result be choosing a new status from the "Change Risk Review Status" drop down; choices are "Reviewed - False Positive", "Reviewed - Match Verified" and "Review - Pending".
Customer Search Results using World-Check
If you are using Sentinel with World-Check the result summary will most likely contain only the World-Check data base results.
In addition to the standard items such as name and date of birth the matching detail data will have location information as well as related entities, related companies. To help source the data the government sanction lists a person is on and external links they are mentioned in are listed.
Searching and Reports
Sentinel reports allow users to access data in their audit log. Reports usually have one or more filters that allow users to retrieve results by user, date entered, risk result, batch process, account number or customer name.
Clicking on the customer name link will bring you to the result summary screen where you can begin remediation. All reports in Sentinel are sortable by column header and exportable into PDF or MS Excel files.
Pictured below is the Result Summary screen which lists the status of all searches that meet the report criteria.
The Batch Summary report lists all the number of customers screened and their risk status for all submitted batches. This report can be sued to verify that a batch successfully completed and determine if there are any matches that need to be remediate. If remediation is required run the Search results report, enter the batch number and select Result Category equals Risk Found - Needs Review.
